Description

Develop and maintain Go-based backend services in AWS, building scalable, reliable systems with operational excellence. You’ll design Kafka event processing workflows, implement third-party API integrations, and tune database performance. You will own initiatives end-to-end, lead technical design decisions, and support production reliability through debugging, incident analysis, and mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Develop services using Go; build with Postgres and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB)

• Design and build scalable systems emphasizing reliability, performance, and operational excellence

• Build Kafka-based event processing: consuming, deserializing, validating, persisting, and reacting to events

• Implement service/product interfaces and extensible handler patterns for integrations

• Develop and maintain data models, write and tune complex SQL queries, optimize indexes, and design reliable schemas

• Own complex initiatives end-to-end from discovery/requirements through delivery and production support

• Collaborate with production and software engineers to plan rollouts and ensure high reliability

• Lead technical architecture/design decisions across systems; establish standards and best practices

• Drive operational maturity: observability, incident response, on-call practices, reliability goals, post-incident prevention

• Perform code reviews, documentation, and unit/integration testing; ensure maintainable, well-covered code

• Mentor and coach engineers; provide strong design/code review feedback

• Prioritize technical debt while planning features and maintaining platform health

• Manage multiple priorities in an agile, fast-paced environment; keep delivery quality high
