Description

Provide clinical and clerical support to pediatric providers and patient care teams by performing back-office and patient-related tasks. Assist with implementing the medical plan of care under the direction of a clinician, using technical competence and patient interaction skills to promote cooperation from patients, families, and other providers. Perform routine medical assisting duties such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and administering injections.

Responsibilities

• Support smooth patient and workflow within the department

• Help implement the medical plan of care under clinician direction

• Perform back-office and patient-related tasks to support high-quality patient care

• Interpret and follow written, oral, diagram, or scheduled instructions

• Use communication skills to explain sensitive information professionally to diverse audiences

• Prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures

• Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

• Medical Assistant program graduate (diploma within 90 days) OR completion of Medical Assistant externship (160 hours)

• BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider certification

• 1 year of recent relevant experience

• Competence in basic Medical Assisting skills (vital signs, patient preparation for exam, administer injections)
