Description

Provides clinical and clerical support to providers and members of patient care teams by performing back office and patient-related tasks that support high-quality patient care. Assists with smooth patient and workflow within the department and helps the patient care team implement the medical plan of care under clinician direction.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of back office and patient-related tasks supporting delivery of care

• Prepare patients for exams

• Take vital signs

• Administer injections

• Support patient education and communication with patients, families, and other healthcare providers

• Interpret data and follow written, oral, diagram, or scheduled instructions

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program; submit diploma within 90 days

• Medical Assistant externship completion (160 hours), verified on the MA school website

• BLS for Healthcare Providers

• 1 year of recent relevant experience

• Demonstrated basic medical assisting competence (vital signs, patient prep, injections)
