Description

Provide clinical and clerical support to providers and the patient care team by completing back-office and patient-related tasks that help deliver high-quality care. Support smooth patient and departmental workflow and assist the team in implementing the medical plan of care through patient interaction and technical competence. Perform all duties under the direction of a clinician.

Responsibilities

• Support patient flow and departmental workflow
• Prepare patients for exams
• Take vital signs and perform basic medical assisting tasks
• Administer injections
• Interpret instructions and communicate sensitive information professionally

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program (diploma within 90 days) OR completion of a Medical Assistant externship (160 hours)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider certification
• 1 year of recent relevant experience
• Validated basic Medical Assisting skills (vital signs, patient preparation, injections)
• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, and schedule instructions/data
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and work within SOPs
• General knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
• Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office Suite) and familiarity with an EHR
