Description

Perform standardized instrument processing and decontamination to prevent the spread of infection, illness, or disease. Work independently using sound judgment to disinfect and distribute supplies and to perform equipment maintenance, testing, and setup as needed. Follow all local/state/federal regulations and facility policies to support privacy and safety and help deliver optimal patient care.

Responsibilities

• Process and decontaminate surgical instruments using standardized procedures
• Disinfect and distribute supplies
• Maintain, test, and set up equipment as required
• Execute safe and precise sterilization procedures
• Adhere to applicable regulations, codes, and departmental policies

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED OR Sterile Processing Certification
• 1-year recent relevant experience
• General knowledge of surgical tools, procedures, views, and equipment
• Ability to interpret instructions and data in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
• Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize within standardized operating procedures
• General computer knowledge (Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook)
