Description

Provide operational support to the endoscopy unit by preparing procedure rooms, maintaining equipment, reprocessing scopes, maintaining supplies, and supporting physicians and nursing staff during gastrointestinal diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Work with the clinical team to support safe, efficient, high-quality patient care and remain compliant with infection prevention and regulatory standards. This role requires demonstrated competency in endoscopy equipment handling, scope reprocessing, and in-room procedural assisting for general and advanced gastroenterology procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare procedural rooms for endoscopy cases
• Maintain and support endoscopy equipment
• Reprocess endoscopes (scope reprocessing)
• Maintain endoscopy supplies
• Provide advanced technical and procedural support during GI diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Assist physicians and nursing staff in-room during procedures
• Support compliance with infection prevention and regulatory standards

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (equivalent experience accepted in lieu of required degree/diploma)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider certification
• 1 year of recent relevant experience
• Experience in endoscopy services or demonstrated competency assisting with gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures in an acute care setting
• Knowledge of gastrointestinal anatomy, procedures, endoscopic views, and endoscopic equipment
• Basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
