Description

Provides back-office and patient-related tasks to support delivery of high-quality care in dermatology and Mohs. Assists the patient care team in implementing the medical plan of care under the direction of a clinician, combining education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills. Helps ensure smooth patient and departmental workflow and communicates sensitive information clearly and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and clerical support to providers and the patient care team

• Prepare patients for exams and support implementation of care plans

• Take vital signs and administer injections

• Interpret data and follow instructions from written, oral, diagram, or scheduled forms

• Use basic computer applications and an electronic health record (EHR) to support workflow

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

• Completion of a medical assistant program consistent with California Medical Board requirements (submit diploma within 90 days) OR completion of Sutter Health on-the-job training equivalent to one year

• BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider certification

• 1 year of recent relevant medical assisting experience
