Description

Lead the organization responsible for Slack’s product infrastructure and shared client foundations across web, Slack desktop (Electron), and mobile (Android and iOS). Own shared client infrastructure, frameworks, accessibility, APIs, and reusable components to drive performance, reliability, quality, and feature velocity. Set multi-year technical strategy, raise engineering excellence, and reshape client engineering practices for the agentic era.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-disciplinary engineering organization across web, desktop, and mobile; hire, develop, and retain engineering managers and senior ICs
• Define and drive a multi-year technical vision and roadmap for Slack’s client infrastructure with Product
• Establish high standards for performance, reliability, quality, and engineering craft
• Steward shared frameworks, components, design-system foundations, and internal client APIs used by all Slack product teams
• Champion accessibility as a first-class engineering priority
• Collaborate with executive peers in Product, Design, and Engineering across Slack and Salesforce
• Build a connected, global, distributed/hybrid team culture
• In first 60–90 days: assess the org, set strategy, and improve technical excellence and team performance

Requirements

• Significant experience leading product infrastructure engineering for a complex, large-scale client application
• Experience in client infrastructure; strong experience in web and/or mobile
• Track record leading large engineering organizations, including managing managers
• Ability to set technical strategy and work with Product and Design to produce a roadmap
• Ability to hold teams to a high bar on performance, reliability, and quality
• Ability to collaborate effectively across functions without direct authority over all parties
• Related technical degree
