Description

Lead the Cloud Engineering team that provides cloud primitives, networking, and automation powering a global always-on remittance business. You’ll drive an AI-first approach by integrating AI agents and automated agentic workflows into infrastructure management. This is a hands-on leadership role where you stay close to technical work while building and scaling a high-performing engineering organization.

Responsibilities

• Champion AI-first infrastructure practices, integrating AI agents, MCP tooling, and automated agentic systems

• Drive FinOps and cloud cost optimization in partnership with finance and engineering stakeholders

• Own IaC strategy by building reusable, repeatable infrastructure patterns for other teams to adopt

• Architect for global presence and high resiliency using edge computing and multi-region, multi-cloud/hybrid strategies

• Lead and grow a distributed engineering team, setting technical vision and direction for a self-service builder experience

• Stay hands-on: review designs and code, participate in incidents, and maintain enough technical depth to make architecture tradeoffs

• Partner with Security, SRE, and Builder Experience on shared infrastructure solutions

• Collaborate with internal and external partners on network expansion, VPN setup, and seamless network integration

• Own the comprehensive network strategy for edge computing, multi-account, and multi-region architectures

Requirements

• Experience leading distributed multi-team engineering organizations across countries and time zones

• Experience hiring senior engineers and developing engineering managers

• Track record setting multi-year technical strategy for cloud infrastructure and converting it into roadmaps, OKRs, and headcount plans

• Sound judgment on long-horizon architecture decisions (account structure, multi-region, multi-cloud) at large scale

• Experience building self-service infrastructure platforms that scale without linear headcount growth

• Ownership of cloud spend as a business outcome, including cost/performance/reliability tradeoffs

• Comfort operating as a working manager: coding, architecture reviews, and deep technical problem solving

• Clear written communication to align senior stakeholders across geographies and functions
