Description

Own the product direction and business outcomes for GitLab’s SaaS environments, linking reliability, scalability, and operability to commercial decisions. Guide growth for GitLab.com through customer isolation, additional cells, rate/usage limits, and monetization, and scale GitLab Dedicated via automation, self-service, and alignment with new releases. Balance customer needs with operating costs and gross margin while establishing P&L ownership for both platforms.

Responsibilities

• Set product strategy and roadmap across GitLab.com and GitLab Dedicated

• Improve platform reliability, scalability, and operability, including customer separation and GitLab.com cell-based architecture

• Define GitLab.com rate limits, usage limits, and monetization approach

• Scale GitLab Dedicated through maintenance-window automation and other operational improvements

• Expand customer self-service for Dedicated tenants (monitor, observe, and operate)

• Enable customer-initiated disaster recovery and geographic redundancy; support earlier beta access on Dedicated

• Reduce time between GitLab releases and Dedicated availability

• Develop and own the business side of the portfolio, including P&L ownership for both platforms

Requirements

• Experience leading a product portfolio at director level (or comparable scope) across multiple related products

• Technical product experience with cloud platforms, infrastructure, or SaaS environments

• Ability to connect product decisions to commercial outcomes (monetization, operating costs, gross margin)

• Ability to translate complex platform challenges into product priorities and deliver across teams

• Ability to lead through product direction and influence as a director-level individual contributor

• Direct product P&L ownership experience is especially valuable

• Experience in an AI-adopting organization is helpful
