Description

Provide comprehensive pediatric healthcare for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults, including health supervision and illness management. You will complete developmental/medical histories, perform age-appropriate physical examinations, recommend screenings and diagnostics, diagnose pediatric conditions, and create holistic, culturally sensitive, family-centered care plans that actively involve the child and family.

Responsibilities

• Obtain a comprehensive developmental, health, and medical history

• Perform physical examinations based on age and history

• Perform or recommend age-appropriate screenings, laboratory tests, and diagnostic procedures

• Assess and diagnose childhood illnesses, including chronic and acute conditions

• Consult with other healthcare providers as necessary

• Provide pediatric specialist consultation to other healthcare providers

• Teach, counsel, and advise children and families about growth, development, health status, illnesses, management plans, and health promotion

• Provide anticipatory guidance and disease/injury prevention education

• Deliver age-appropriate education considering growth/development, cultural beliefs, and family systems

• Guide families on skills that support healthy behaviors and function as a health resource

• Educate families on medication/treatment purpose, regimens, side effects, possible interactions, costs, and alternatives

• Provide care reflecting evidence-based practice, ethical considerations, and cost awareness
