Description

Provide diagnostic and treatment services in an urgent care setting, evaluating patients of all ages and managing conditions with accurate documentation and follow-up. Perform minor procedures (e.g., laceration repair, incision and drainage, foreign body removal) and provide splinting/casting for minor orthopedic injuries.

Fellows and practicing physicians are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories, examine patients, order diagnostic testing, interpret results, and make diagnoses

• Create and manage treatment plans

• Perform minor surgical procedures (laceration repair, incision and drainage, foreign body removal)

• Splint and cast minor orthopedic injuries

• Document encounters thoroughly and accurately

• Conduct follow-up calls and handle incoming patient, pharmacy, or physician calls

Requirements

• MD or Doctor degree

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Urgent Care, and/or Internal Medicine (with urgent care)

• Successful completion of an approved residency training program

• Active New York State Medical Practitioner License

• Current DEA and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration for prescription writing

• Urgent care or Emergency Department experience

• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus
