Description

Provide daily urology care including evaluation, ordering/analyzing tests, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up. Prescribe and monitor medications, document patient progress, and educate patients and families on treatment and goals. Collaborate with physicians and other medical staff to determine and coordinate treatment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients via interviews, conversations, and observation
• Request/perform patient tests and analyze results
• Diagnose urologic conditions and associated psychological/emotional needs when applicable
• Collaborate with physicians and medical staff to determine treatment
• Set patient goals and discuss treatment plans
• Establish timelines, tasks, and medical needs
• Select best medications/therapy to help patients reach goals
• Prescribe medications and monitor patient intake
• Document records and progress (symptoms, medications, treatments)
• Counsel patients and support recovery with emotional tools and methods
• Educate patients and relevant parties (family/significant others) on progress, treatment, and future goals

Requirements

• MD or Doctor of Urology
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology
• Successful completion of an approved Endocrinology residency training program
• Active license
• Current New York State Medical Practitioner License
• Current DEA and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration for prescription writing
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
