Endocrinology outpatient role (full-time or part-time) serving geriatric and adult patients.

Description

Provide compassionate outpatient endocrinology care including patient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, and follow-up. You will order and analyze appropriate testing, document patient progress, and counsel and educate patients and their families. Fellows and practicing physicians are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients through interviews, conversations, and observation
• Administer and/or request tests and laboratory work; analyze results
• Diagnose endocrine-related conditions and develop treatment approaches
• Collaborate with patients’ physicians and other care team members to determine treatment
• Set patient goals and discuss treatment plans, including timelines and medical needs
• Select best medications/therapy to help patients reach goals
• Prescribe medications and monitor patient intake
• Document patient records and progress (symptoms, medications, treatments)
• Counsel patients and provide emotional support tools and methods for recovery
• Educate patients, families, and other relevant parties on progress, treatment, and future goals

Requirements

• MD or Doctor of Endocrinology
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Endocrinology
• Successful completion of an approved Endocrinology residency training program
• Active license
• Current New York State Medical Practitioner License
• Current DEA and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration for prescription writing
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus (not required)
