Description

As a Psychiatrist, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. You will perform psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients through conversations, interviews, and observations
• Administer tests or request testing/lab work; analyze patient data and results
• Diagnose psychological, emotional, or behavioral disorders
• Collaborate with physicians and other medical staff to determine treatment
• Set patient goals and discuss treatment plans
• Establish timelines, tasks, and medical needs
• Analyze best medications or therapy to help patients reach goals
• Prescribe medications and monitor patient intake
• Document patient records and progress, including symptoms, medications, and treatments
• Counsel patients and respond to reactions to treatment
• Provide emotional tools and methods for recovery
• Educate patients, family members, significant others, and relevant parties on progress, treatment, and future goals

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited U.S. medical school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist
• Successful completion of an approved psychiatry residency training program
• Active license
• Current New York State Medical Practitioner License
• Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration
• Current Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration for prescription writing
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
