Description

Provide direct patient psychiatric care in outpatient and nursing home settings. Assess referred patients using evidence-based tools, deliver evidence-based treatment (including CBT and crisis intervention), and coordinate care with other health providers. Document services timely and support outreach to engage patients with limited behavioral health utilization.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients referred by Primary Care Providers (PCP) using evidence-based assessment tools
• Treat behavioral health conditions using evidence-based approaches: CBT, Motivational Interviewing, crisis intervention, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, behavioral activation
• Make treatment recommendations
• Refer patients to a psychiatrist when appropriate
• Monitor treatment through review of clinical documentation and coordination of care with other providers and health homes
• Provide crisis intervention services and risk assessment as needed
• Engage clients with limited utilization of behavioral health services through outreach efforts
• Document services in a timely manner

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychiatry (Ph.D./PsyD)
• Current NYS registration
