Description

Senior Python Developer with Java will design, develop, and deploy Python backend applications and scalable event-driven systems in the cloud. The role emphasizes translating business needs into secure, reliable, high-performance technical decisions using GCP/GKE and Kafka or Google Pub/Sub. You will also evaluate new technologies, contribute to engineering standards, and mentor other developers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy Python backend applications

• Build scalable and reliable solutions in GCP/GKE

• Develop event-driven systems using Kafka or Google Pub/Sub

• Design and optimize integrations and database solutions

• Implement security mechanisms (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, Zero Trust assumptions)

• Identify security, performance, and reliability risks

• Translate business requirements into solutions improving efficiency, security, and delivery speed

• Analyze emerging technologies and recommend architecture improvements

• Co-create technical standards and programming best practices

• Mentor developers and support engineering community growth

• Collaborate with technical and business teams beyond your immediate scope

Requirements

• 10+ years experience in software development

• Very strong Python skills

• Knowledge of Java (basics)

• Practical experience with at least one cloud platform (GCP/Azure/AWS) and Kubernetes

• Ability to implement authentication and authorization mechanisms, including OAuth2 and OpenID Connect

• Experience with event-driven architecture and Kafka/Google Pub/Sub

• Experience with PostgreSQL or Cloud SQL/Cloud Spanner

• Ability to map business needs to scalable, secure, effective solutions

• Fluent English communication
