Description

You will design and develop scalable, secure backend services and cloud architecture in Google Cloud Platform, while staying active in production code. The role combines engineering standards and architecture thinking across security, automation, and the broader technology ecosystem. You will own the full lifecycle of services in GCP, from implementation and deployment to monitoring/observability, maintenance, and cost optimization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy production backend services using Python and Node.js (and Go when needed)
• Maintain high engineering standards, code quality, and architectural consistency across teams
• Design and evolve scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant services running on GCP
• Build solutions using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Cloud Run
• Create event-driven architecture with Pub/Sub
• Optimize PostgreSQL query performance under high concurrency
• Own the end-to-end service lifecycle in GCP (implementation, deployment, monitoring/observability, maintenance, cost optimization)
• Design and manage OAuth2 and OpenID Connect-based authentication and authorization mechanisms
• Develop and automate infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Incorporate security, automation, and reliability from the design stage
• Identify improvement opportunities in existing systems and translate them into technical solutions
• Mentor and share knowledge to support engineers’ technical growth

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of software development experience
• Very strong Python knowledge
• Experience with Node.js
• Practical experience with one of: GCP, Azure, or AWS
• Knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience designing scalable and secure backend services
• Practical understanding of security topics: Zero Trust, OAuth2, OpenID Connect
• Fluent communication in English
