Description

You will work as a Java Tech Lead/Solution Architect, actively coding ~75% of the time while designing and evolving web and microservices architectures. The role includes leading technical direction in a Scrum team, designing APIs and integrations, performing code reviews, and mentoring developers. You will also ensure performance, security, scalability, and apply observability, event-driven architecture, containerization, cloud (preferably Azure), and AI-assisted development.

Responsibilities

• Act as Tech Lead in a Scrum team (technical direction and architectural decisions)

• Implement business requirements in Java through active development

• Design and evolve system and microservices architecture

• Translate product/business requirements into technical solutions with the Product Owner

• Define and enforce technical standards (coding, architecture, integrations)

• Perform code reviews and maintain code quality

• Mentor and develop team members; support resolving technical problems

• Design and oversee system integration and API development

• Ensure performance, security, and scalability

• Collaborate cross-team (other Scrum teams, architecture, DevOps, integrations)

• Participate in technology decisions and risk assessment

• Use cloud solutions (preferably Azure)

• Apply Agentic AI / AI in development to automate and increase productivity

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing and building web systems

• Very strong Java knowledge with practical production experience

• Experience building microservices and distributed systems

• Strong knowledge of architectural and integration patterns

• Experience designing APIs and integrating systems

• Domain-Driven Design (DDD)

• Practical knowledge of relational databases (SQL, query optimization)

• Event-Driven Architecture experience

• Observability (end-to-end)

• Experience with code review, mentoring, and leading a technical team

• Cross-team collaboration experience

• Ability to contribute to technology decisions and assess risks

• Containerization and orchestration knowledge (Docker, Kubernetes)

• English proficiency at least B2
