Description

You will join a team behind Egnyte’s central file repository and web experience for managing files. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of experienced engineers to drive technical excellence, scalability, and reliable delivery of business-critical features.

You will own the team roadmap with Product Management and UX, drive technical debt reduction, and provide hands-on technical direction on system designs. You will also leverage AI-related skills and tools to support the team and execute individual projects, while ensuring high-quality platform operations through continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow your team: evaluations, growth plans, and process improvements, with clear business context.
• Deliver a high-scale product on time: own the roadmap, manage technical debt, maintain scalability, and bring innovation.
• Stay hands-on: provide technical input and leadership on system designs.
• AI mastery: apply newest AI skills/tools to support team execution and projects.
• Keep the platform running well: ensure reliable operations and foster continuous learning.
• Participate in leadership initiatives: influence culture, standards, and the work environment.
• Collaborate regularly with Product Management, UX, QA, Platform, DevOps, and SRE to deliver and operate the roadmap reliably.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading distributed teams.
• Experience building and operating large-scale, mission-critical, multi-tenant SaaS products in the cloud; strong understanding of GCP, Azure, or AWS.
• Background in Java (mandatory) and hands-on ability to understand and contribute to system designs.
• Familiarity with AI/ML integration, including LLMs, AI-powered features, or data pipelines supporting intelligent services.
• Solid communication skills, including strong written and spoken English.
