Description

You’ll report to an IT Director and act as part of IT leadership within development teams, leading and growing people while shaping how teams work and driving continuous improvements in development processes. You’ll monitor team progress and health across sprints, cycles, and projects, remove impediments, and ensure teams deliver high-quality code. Beyond your teams, you’ll collaborate with other Engineering Managers and Product Managers to move IT forward.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support teams: own team performance and key results; work with Product Managers; drive continuous improvement in planning and delivery; identify and resolve problems and remove impediments; ensure teams have tools and resources; manage hiring-related budgets, visibility, and recognition; support culture and team-building; manage team communication channels.

• Develop and support people: own performance and development; provide regular feedback and performance evaluations (soft skills and technical aspects); co-create career paths and goals; encourage continuous development; coach/mentor and identify training needs; manage salaries, absences, expenses, and bonuses.

• Contribute to IT: represent IT within your teams; contribute to IT strategy and initiatives; support knowledge sharing and guild activities.

Requirements

• Located in Poland and hold a valid work permit

• 5+ years of experience in similar roles (Engineering Manager, Team Leader)

• Proven people management and leadership track record

• Experience with two or more programming languages or significant technical involvement in software development

• Practical experience with GitLab, Jira, and Claude/ChatGPT

• Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience

• Excellent Polish language skills and English at B2+ level
