Description

Lead a team of Java engineers building core backend services for a new PAM platform. The platform will support real-money transactions at high scale, including player wallets, payments, bonuses, ledger operations, and account lifecycle management. You will combine technical leadership with hands-on development, reliability practices, and regulatory feature support.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop Java engineers; set priorities and own delivery within your domain

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services for the PAM platform (wallets, payments, ledger entries, bonuses, account management)

• Build REST APIs and event-driven integrations using Kafka or similar messaging

• Ensure code quality and reliability via testing, idempotent operations, transaction boundaries, and robust error handling

• Implement features supporting regulatory requirements: KYC/AML, responsible gaming controls, audit trails

• Drive production readiness with monitoring, structured logging, tracing, and alerting

• Participate in on-call and troubleshoot production incidents

• Contribute to technical design discussions, RFCs, and code reviews

• Use AI-assisted development tools in daily workflow

• Support migration from an existing third-party platform (parity testing, data migration validation, production cutover)

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience managing or leading software engineering teams

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience

• Strong hands-on knowledge of Java 17+ and Spring Boot (or similar framework)

• Proven experience building and operating transactional systems (payments, wallets, banking, billing, e-commerce checkout, or gaming)

• Strong understanding of relational databases, especially PostgreSQL (schema design, transactions, locking, query optimization)

• Event-driven architecture experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ, including idempotency and retry mechanisms

• Practical testing experience: unit, integration, and contract testing

• Experience with containers, CI/CD pipelines, and production monitoring tools

• Good written and spoken English for collaboration in a distributed, international team
