Description

You will lead a backend engineering team, coordinate delivery and quality, and translate business needs into technical requirements. The role focuses on planning (estimations, sprints, backlog), managing risks and dependencies, and promoting strong engineering standards for code, testing, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow the backend team; delegate, track tasks, and support continuous development
• Define project scope, timelines, and monitor progress
• Ensure timely delivery of features with high security, code quality, and maintainability
• Manage backlog priorities across new features, bug fixes, technical debt repayment, and ongoing maintenance
• Promote high standards of coding, testing, and documentation
• Identify technical dependencies, delivery risks, and deployment risks early
• Improve production processes to remove bottlenecks and enhance day-to-day software delivery
• Bridge business and IT by converting business needs into technical requirements and managing stakeholder expectations

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of commercial experience building or developing backend software
• Minimum 2 years of experience coordinating developers or directly managing an IT team
• Demonstrated success leading development projects for business systems and applications
• Strong estimation and sprint planning; assertive priority setting
• Practical and thorough knowledge of SDLC
• Experience organizing QA, deployment/DevOps, and application maintenance
• Experience collaborating with business analysts, Product Owners, end users, and external vendors
• Experience in system integration, legacy architecture modernization, and business process automation
• Deep technical understanding of the architecture and technology stack used by your team
