Description

Own critical parts of a real-time fraud, credit, and compliance decisioning platform used by banks and fintechs. Build and scale low-latency Java services, including event streaming and data systems, while driving production reliability through monitoring and performance tuning. Make architecture and design decisions, write design docs, and raise engineering standards through reviews and knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities

• Own features end to end: design, build, ship safely, and keep them running well in production

• Build and scale core Java services with latency and reliability requirements

• Work with real-time streaming and data systems to handle high event volumes

• Build reliable workflow processes using orchestration tools (e.g., Temporal)

• Propose architecture, weigh trade-offs, and document designs

• Partner with product, frontend, and customer-facing teams to understand problems before coding

• Own production operations: monitoring, performance tuning, and root-cause fixes

• Raise the engineering bar through code reviews and knowledge sharing

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development with deep expertise in Java and its ecosystem

• Track record taking work from concept to production with minimal hand-holding

• Solid experience in low-latency, high-scale distributed systems in production

• Hands-on experience with AWS, microservices, and containers (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Experience with Kafka, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, and Redis

• Good understanding of API design and security best practices

• Strong written and verbal communication skills for async work
