Description

You will build and maintain backend services behind a high-traffic mobile application, including chat communication, memory capabilities, and user personalization. You’ll work on AI-powered assistants that support the purchasing journey and develop new product features and extend existing functionality. The role includes improving and hardening components with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance, with end-to-end ownership of services.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services for chat, memory, and personalization

• Develop AI-powered assistant functionality for pre-purchase and purchasing experiences

• Implement new product features and extend existing functionality for additional business use cases

• Improve and harden existing components with focus on scalability, reliability, and performance

• Own services end to end: development, maintenance, monitoring, and operational excellence

• Participate in architectural and technical decisions within a small, high-ownership team

• Use AI tools in daily engineering and help evolve AI-driven user experiences

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering experience in the JVM ecosystem (Kotlin or Java) and a track record of building production-grade systems

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, plus strong architectural thinking

• Practical experience using AI in software development or building AI-enabled features (visible on your CV)

• Curiosity about emerging AI technologies and willingness to experiment

• Experience in fast-paced product environments and comfort taking ownership end to end

• Strong English communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with high-scale distributed systems

• Observability and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana)

• Kotlin (Java developers open to learning Kotlin are welcome)
