Stockholm, Sweden

Quick Facts

  • Role: Release Manager

  • Scope: 100% (full-time)

  • Start: Immediate

  • Location: Stockholm office, 2–3 days per week

Description

A hands-on Release Manager is needed to coordinate releases across INTEGRATION, ACCEPTANCE, and PRODUCTION environments within a business-critical transformation moving to SAP for Insurance (S4I). You will plan, coordinate, and daily follow up release owners across multiple IT teams and vendors, ensuring technical release readiness within agreed time windows in close collaboration with Development & Integration and Test.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a shared release calendar and time windows for integration, acceptance, and production; coordinate content, sequence, resources, and dependencies across teams and vendors.

  • Protect the stability of integration and acceptance environments during test periods via agreed change freezes and coordination of every environment change with Test.

  • Coordinate blocking hotfixes through a controlled exception process including documented risk/test impact, approval from an appointed decision maker, verification, and communication.

  • Ensure release readiness: scoped content, fulfilled release criteria, test evidence, staffing, and an execution plan; escalate gaps and obtain decisions before execution.

  • Secure traceability between tickets, versions, build packages, and environment-specific configurations, and maintain current release notes (content, known issues, limitations).

  • Identify and coordinate breaking changes, interface versions, and technical dependencies with Development & Integration, involved teams, and external parties.

  • Coordinate execution plans with checkpoints, technical verification, and rollback/backout: responsible persons, decision points, restoration steps, and criteria for stopping.

  • Coordinate release communications before, during, and after execution; track outcomes, deviations, and handover to Hypercare and ongoing operations.

Requirements

  • Several years of operational release management experience in large IT transformations with multiple teams and vendors (preferably banking, finance, or insurance).

  • Experience coordinating releases to integration, acceptance, and production including change freezes, hotfixes, and parallel program and maintenance deliveries.

  • Strong understanding of integrations, interface dependencies, breaking changes, versioning and configuration management, and CI/CD workflows; knowledge of SAP transports is advantageous.

  • Practical experience with release readiness, rollback planning, release communication, and collaboration with Test, Operations, and maintenance.

  • Ability to translate technical risks and dependencies into clear execution plans, decision support, and escalations; SAP experience is a plus.

Personal Attributes

  • Structured, detail-oriented, and driving with a clear operational focus.

  • Clear, collaborative communication; creates alignment and follows up on agreements.

  • Calm and solutions-oriented under time pressure with good judgment during deviations.

  • Independent and pragmatic, able to escalate risks in time.
