Description

You will lead and grow a high-performing software development team, owning the technical vision and a 1–2 year product roadmap for your team’s systems. You’ll guide engineering through the full lifecycle (design, implementation, deployment, and long-term maintenance), drive architecture decisions for scalability/performance/security/maintainability, and reduce complexity and technical debt. You’ll partner with product and engineering teams to resolve dependencies and deliver improvements to the customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a software engineering team through coaching, mentorship, and career development; build a strong hiring pipeline

• Own technical strategy and the 1–2 year roadmap, balancing tradeoffs across scope, resources, and timelines

• Drive system design decisions to meet scalability, performance, security, and maintainability requirements

• Collaborate cross-functionally (product, program management, peer engineering) to align priorities and dependencies

• Establish operational excellence practices using metrics, audits, and quality standards

Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience

• 7+ years working directly within engineering teams

• 3+ years of designing/architecting systems with design patterns, reliability, and scaling

• 8+ years leading definition and development of multi-tier web services

• Knowledge of engineering practices across the full software/hardware/networks lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and production operations

• Experience partnering with product or program management teams
