Description

Lead the development of software and SDKs for machine vision camera interfaces while owning the product vision, roadmap, and backlog. You will manage and grow the team, collaborate tightly with firmware and hardware, and align priorities with customers, sales, support, and international standards work. Deliver a stable SDK, outstanding developer experience, reliable CI/CD-driven releases, and security-by-design from day one.

Responsibilities

• Disciplinarily and technically lead the team (hiring, regular feedback, individual development)

• Create an environment for independent, agile collaboration with firmware and hardware teams

• Own vision, roadmap, and backlog for camera interfaces; deliver a cross-device SDK with a stable C API and bindings for C++, Python, C#, and robotics

• Manage and evolve GenICam/GenTL integration

• Work with customer developers, sales, and support; observe the market and derive clear priorities

• Design the end-to-end Developer Experience: documentation, code examples, public repositories, installation, and “Getting Started”

• Partner with architecture and firmware on key decisions (API design, backward compatibility, target platforms: Windows/Linux/ARM, and release models)

• Ensure quality and predictable releases with modern CI/CD, automated tests, and clean versioning

• Integrate security and regulatory requirements early (e.g., EU Cyber Resilience Act)

• Represent the company at IVSM and contribute to standards such as GenICam

• Translate standardization inputs into products and feed practical experience back into the standards

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or comparable qualification

• Multi-year software development experience, ideally with C/C++ and API/SDK design

• Experience integrating cameras, sensors, or device SDKs into applications (e.g., image processing, robotics, automation)

• Team leadership experience (disciplinary and/or Tech Lead) and motivation to develop people

• Product Owner or agile product development experience

• Strong decision-making skills; ability to weigh technical and business/economic trade-offs and justify decisions

• Very good English proficiency; enjoy international collaboration and occasional travel

• Plus: Machine vision standards knowledge (GenICam, GenTL, GigE Vision)

• Plus: Experience with Python, C#, ROS 2, or image processing libraries such as HALCON or OpenCV

• Plus: Experience with CMake, CI/CD, and maintaining public open-source repositories

• Plus: Security-by-design mindset for connected devices
