Description

You will lead a software development team and own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for camera interfaces. You will develop and evolve a device-spanning SDK with a stable C API, including integrations for C++, Python, C#, and robotics, and GenICam/GenTL integration. You will partner with developers, customers, sales, support, and firmware/hardware teams to deliver high-quality, secure, well-documented releases.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team both technically and disciplinarily, from hiring to regular feedback and individual development plans
• Create an environment for agile, autonomous collaboration with firmware and hardware teams
• Own vision, roadmap, and backlog for camera interfaces, including a cross-device SDK with stable C-API, C++/Python/C#/robot integrations, and GenICam/GenTL
• Talk with developers at customers and coordinate with sales and support; monitor the market and derive clear priorities
• Shape the Developer Experience end-to-end: documentation, code examples, public repositories, installation, and Getting Started
• Participate with architecture and firmware in key decisions such as API design, backward compatibility, target platforms (Windows, Linux, ARM), and delivery models
• Ensure quality and predictable releases using modern CI/CD, automated tests, and clean versioning
• Consider security and regulatory requirements from the start, including the EU Cyber Resilience Act
• Represent the team at the International Vision Standards Meeting (IVSM) and contribute to standards work like GenICam
• Bring impulses from standardization into products and practical experience back into standards

Requirements

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or comparable qualification
• Several years of software development experience, ideally with C/C++ and API/SDK design
• Experience integrating cameras/sensors/device SDKs into applications (e.g., image processing, robotics, automation)
• Experience leading teams (disciplinary or technical) and a motivation to develop people
• Experience as Product Owner or in agile product development
• Strong decision-making ability to balance technical and business/economic considerations and justify decisions
• Very good English skills; enjoyment of international collaboration and occasional travel
