Description

Support and maintain an IBM Z enterprise mainframe infrastructure, with a primary focus on administering the z/VM environment. Install, configure, and administer z/VM; define and manage VM guests for operating systems such as z/OS, z/VM, z/Linux, and z/VSE; and coordinate allocation of virtual and real resources with guest owners. Configure key VM service machines and ensure DCSS and NSS segments can be built, backed up, and restored.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain IBM z/VM operating systems

• Define and manage z/VM guests, including z/OS, z/VM, z/Linux, and z/VSE

• Collaborate with guest owners for appropriate allocation of virtual and real resources

• Configure and administer VM service machines (e.g., RSCS, TCPIP SSL, VTAM, Certificate Management)

• Build, back up, and restore DCSS and NSS segments

• Use CA/Broadcom VM product expertise to install, maintain, and configure VM products from IBM and third parties

• Troubleshoot complex issues to maintain system stability

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with IBM z/VM administration and support

• Ability to work effectively in a high-availability production environment

• Experience provisioning and managing z/OS, z/VM, and z/VSE guests under z/VM

• Base salary range: USD 109,700.00 to USD 175,500.00
