Description

Install, customize, upgrade, and maintain Db2 for z/OS environments and associated ISV tools. Apply Db2 maintenance using SMP/E, administer Db2 security via RACF and ACF2, and perform performance monitoring, sizing, tuning, and troubleshooting. Support disaster recovery strategy and functional testing, while maintaining JCL, operational utilities, SOPs, and technical documentation for mainframe database operations.

Responsibilities

• Install, customize, upgrade, and maintain Db2 for z/OS and related ISV tools (e.g., IBM, Broadcom, CA)
• Execute software maintenance using SMP/E across MVS/z/OS; apply service updates and version upgrades
• Administer Db2 access control and security rules using RACF and ACF2
• Perform performance tuning, monitoring, database sizing, and troubleshooting to resolve anomalies and system errors
• Support disaster recovery (DR) strategy and lead functional testing for the tertiary backup environment
• Maintain JCL, operational utilities, SOPs, and technical documentation for mainframe database operations
• Provide ongoing operations support and collaborate on incident escalation, resolution, and reporting

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Db2 for z/OS installation, customization, and maintenance
• Deep understanding of relational database concepts, IBM utilities, JCL, access methods, file structures, and Db2 monitoring tools
• Practical experience implementing RACF and/or ACF2 Db2 security authorization models and executing DR protocols
• High proficiency with ISV ecosystem tools from IBM, Broadcom, and CA
• Experience participating in large-scale complex projects to design and implement mainframe database solutions
• Strong root-cause analysis skills and excellent written and spoken English communication
• Banking/financial services or enterprise commercial experience (highly preferred)
