Description

You lead the tool maintenance department and ensure high tool availability and process stability in series production. The role includes planning and monitoring maintenance, repair, and optimization activities for progressive compound and forming/bending tools. You analyze wear and damage, derive sustainable improvements, coordinate closely with production and quality, and support the development of preventive and condition-based maintenance strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and organizational leadership for the tool maintenance department

• Plan, control, and monitor maintenance, repair, and optimization measures for progressive compound and forming/bending tools

• Ensure high tool availability and process stability in series manufacturing

• Analyze wear and damage patterns; define sustainable optimization measures and initiate design changes to improve tools

• Work closely with production, quality assurance, design engineering, and work preparation

• Support the further development of maintenance strategies (preventive / condition-based)

• Document measures and evaluate KPIs (tool life, downtime, improvements)

Requirements

• Completed technical training in tool mechanics/toolmaking

• Multi-year professional experience in construction and maintenance of progressive compound tools

• Solid knowledge of systematic fault analysis and sustainable troubleshooting

• Knowledge of tool sensorics and tool securing (e.g., light barriers, signal devices)

• First experience in technical or disciplinary team leadership (preferred)

• High awareness of quality, cost, schedule, and safety
