Description

You will help build and run the network operations for a Microsoft-cloud services platform based on Azure and Office 365 for the sovereign cloud of the German administration. The role includes SDN network expertise, platform monitoring in a Sovereign Cloud Ops Center, and optimization of active data center network components and edge infrastructure. You will also apply network policies, SOPs/TSGs/playbooks, and implement strategies to prevent future incidents.

Responsibilities

• Design the network rebuild and ensure smooth operation of Microsoft cloud services

• Apply SDN networking expertise to operate and evolve Azure and Office 365 platform services

• Monitor the platform in the Sovereign Cloud Ops Center to ensure service quality

• Own the optimization and operations of active data-center network components (DC networks and edge infrastructure)

• Enforce network rules, policies, and processes

• Use SOPs, Troubleshooting Guides (TSGs), and playbooks; continuously improve them

• Implement solution strategies to avoid recurring future incidents

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building and operating network infrastructure, preferably in SDN environments

• Solid knowledge of firewall/network security/network monitoring solutions (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco Firepower/ASA, and/or Juniper SRX)

• Multi-year experience with encryption protocols and privacy/data-protection technologies including VPN, IPSec, and TLS

• Very good programming skills (C#, C++, Java, Python, or Perl)

• Experience with network automation using scripting languages, preferably Python

• Willingness to participate in on-call duty for emergency repairs or system-critical updates

• Very good German and English skills
