Description

You will design and operate highly available and resilient enterprise network infrastructure for Microsoft online services and the Azure platform. The role includes network and security architecture work, automated installation/upgrade/maintenance of networking hardware and software, and complex incident management and problem resolution. This is a high-visibility role focused on improving availability and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Lead network design and architecture of enterprise network plans based on network and security business requirements.
• Install, upgrade, and maintain network/security hardware and operating system and software; leverage automation.
• Participate in on-call DRI rotation for network infrastructure support.
• Oversee complex network/security projects: design, deployment, monitoring, and incident/problem resolution.
• Handle Layer 3 technologies including IPv4/IPv6 and routing protocols and redundancy features.
• Apply enterprise networking knowledge at scale (e.g., MPLS/BGP, routing, switching, SDN/NFV, EVPN VXLAN) and work with SD-WAN.
• Monitor network state using SNMP, sFlow/NetFlow, and telemetry; follow capacity plan guidelines and network service budgets.
• Review service-provider invoices for usage/errors/inconsistencies and make adjustments where feasible.
• Collaborate with IT and business teams to deliver production-level operations; provide direction and guidance to less experienced staff.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a relevant field with 1+ year technical experience in network design/development/automation OR Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years OR equivalent experience.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud background check at hire/transfer and every two years.
• On-call participation for DRI rotation.
