Description

You will be responsible for the design, architecture, implementation, and stable operation of modern cloud platforms on Microsoft Azure. The role includes building scalable, highly available, and secure architectures, creating solution and migration concepts, and developing Azure landing zones aligned with the Cloud Adoption Framework. You will also optimize costs and resources, automate infrastructure with Infrastructure as Code, and ensure monitoring, governance, compliance, and disaster recovery.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, document, and operate Azure-based cloud architectures
• Create architecture concepts, solution designs, operations concepts, and migration strategies
• Plan and execute cloud migrations (Lift & Shift, Re-Platforming, Re-Architecting)
• Build and evolve Azure Landing Zones based on CAF
• Optimize costs and manage resources (FinOps basics, Azure Cost Management)
• Design and implement Azure network structures (VNet, peering, VPN, etc.)
• Integrate on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments; implement Zero-Trust architectures
• Implement network security and identity concepts (NSG, Azure Firewall, etc.)
• Ensure compliance, data protection, and security requirements
• Automate cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, PowerShell)
• Implement and operate monitoring, logging, and alerting (e.g., Azure Monitor)
• Own stability, performance, backup, and disaster-recovery concepts
• Continuously support and improve existing Azure environments
• Advise stakeholders on Azure architectures and cloud strategies
• Conduct workshops, Proof-of-Concepts, architecture reviews, and technical presentations
• Collaborate closely with project management, security, compliance, workplace, DevOps, and application teams

Requirements

• Multi-year experience as a Cloud Engineer or in a comparable role
• Azure certifications such as AZ-104 / AZ-305 (AZ-500, AZ-700 desirable)
• In-depth Microsoft Azure knowledge: Compute (VMs, App Services, Functions, Containers), Storage (Blob, File, Disk, Backup), Networking (VNet, NSG, Load Balancer, Application Gateway, DNS), and Governance/Management (Azure Policy, Blueprints, Management Groups)
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals: routing, switching, VLAN, subnetting, WAN architectures; VPN and hybrid networks; TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
• Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented approach; high quality and responsibility
• Strong communication with a consulting mindset
• Willingness to learn and work with new technologies
• Very good German and good English proficiency
