• Role: Senior Cloud Engineer (focus on Microsoft Azure)

Description

You will build and operate modern cloud infrastructures, primarily on Microsoft Azure, and continuously improve them—potentially expanding toward a multi-cloud setup. The role includes designing and implementing scalable, secure, highly available cloud architectures and automating infrastructure and operations with Infrastructure as Code. You will contribute to automation practices involving Terraform and Ansible and work closely with other IT teams to apply current best practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate modern cloud infrastructures with a focus on Microsoft Azure; evolve toward multi-cloud in the future
• Design and implement scalable, secure, highly available cloud architectures
• Implement cloud infrastructures with Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform, in productive environments
• Automate infrastructure and operations processes; further develop automation capabilities with Terraform and Ansible
• Collaborate with other IT teams to enhance existing cloud environments according to current best practices
• Bring technical expertise and ideas and take ownership for implementation
• Explore new technologies and methods and support sustainable development of cloud and automation processes

Requirements

• Mehrjährige praktische Erfahrung im Aufbau und Betrieb von Cloud-Infrastrukturen; ability to quickly get up to speed in existing environments
• Very strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure; first experiences with AWS or other cloud platforms are an advantage
• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform in productive use
• Solid scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash or comparable technologies)
• Interest in automation, CI/CD, and Ansible; motivation to develop these topics with the team
• Practical working style and ability to translate technical ideas into productive solutions
• Ability to ramp up independently on new technologies and deliver clean, sustainable, technically sound solutions
• Teamwork, communication skills, and willingness to collaborate closely with other IT areas
• Fluent German and English
• Cloud certifications are welcome; practical experience is more important
