Description

You will lead engineering efforts to build and extend a high-performance payment product. The role includes implementing backend improvements, designing secure, well-tested APIs and integrations, ensuring system quality through monitoring and testing, and guiding teams with engineering best practices in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Write high-quality, hyper-performant, well-structured code to support and extend the existing product
• Break down complex product features and backend improvements into detailed, deliverable technical tasks
• Advise and guide teams on engineering best practices, solution design, and problem solving
• Own system quality, monitoring, and unit/integration testing; improve testing strategy
• Work in an agile environment delivering user stories with significant customer impact
• Build rock-solid, secure, well-tested, highly performant integrations and APIs
• Continuously improve code, systems, processes, and knowledge
• Work with databases and handle data securely and efficiently
• Triage inbound bug reports, reproduce issues, and identify solutions
• Provide technical leadership and continuous support to junior engineers

Requirements

• 7+ years of Java software development experience (preferred)
• Spring Boot experience
• Experience building microservices and robust interfaces
• SQL database experience (MySQL or SQL Server)
• Experience integrating with external services
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in a technical field
• Team/technical leadership experience
• Highly skilled cloud architecture (AWS) and related tooling
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, Terraform (Infra as Code), and CI/CD
• Detail-oriented and committed to quality
