Description

You will lead a greenfield Azure Data Platform build as the primary technical authority, setting architecture standards and designing DataOps and CI/CD practices from scratch. Partner with architects and business stakeholders to turn complex requirements into robust, scalable engineering delivery. Own end-to-end technical execution with a distributed team of senior data engineers.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy and architectural standards for the engineering team

• Design, build, and scale an Azure-native data platform (Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or Azure Purview)

• Align backlog stories with architectural intent and ensure clarity and feasibility

• Establish CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DataOps practices to maintain release quality

• Provide day-to-day technical leadership, mentoring, and unblocking for complex problems

• Collaborate with enterprise architects and business stakeholders to implement sound technical solutions

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience delivering large-scale data platforms

• Deep expertise implementing enterprise data platforms on Microsoft Azure

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure Databricks and/or Azure Data Factory

• Strong modern data modeling, enterprise data integration, and DataOps practices

• Agile/Scrum experience using Jira and Confluence; ability to work with high autonomy

• Strong communication skills in English; ability to whiteboard and articulate architectural rationale to senior stakeholders
