Description

You will lead the design, development, and deployment of backend platform capabilities in a restricted Azure Greenfield environment. The work includes building APIs that allow users to query models hosted and deployed via Azure Databricks, and defining model deployment guidelines using MLflow wrappers and an agreed API shape. You will also implement CI/CD best practices with GitLab to ensure code quality, testing, and deployment automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy backend platform capabilities in a restricted Azure Greenfield environment

• Design an API for querying deployed models

• Use Azure Databricks to host and deploy models

• Define process and guidelines for model deployment, including MLflow wrapping and API design

• Implement CI/CD best practices using GitLab, covering code quality, testing, and deployment automation

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 5+ engineers

Requirements

• 8+ years of data engineering experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role

• Strong Python skills and relevant data engineering libraries (multithreading, async, REST API, exception handling, Pydantic)

• Strong Azure experience (Azure Databricks, Azure App Service, IAM/RBAC)

• CI/CD and DevOps experience with GitLab and version control

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes

• Strong problem-solving ability in a fast-paced agile environment

• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
