Description

You will own key Work Memory product areas in Copilot Chat, turning customer needs and competitive gaps into durable platform and experience requirements. The role includes defining how Copilot captures, refreshes, retrieves, uses, and explains memory—while ensuring users can control it. You will lead product quality and evaluation across offline and online metrics, experimentation, regression protection, and failure analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Own product strategy, roadmap, and execution for Work Memory capabilities in Copilot Chat

  • Define end-to-end user experiences for memory capture, refresh, retrieval, usage, explanation, and user control

  • Convert customer feedback, usage signals, support themes, and competitive insights into platform-level requirements

  • Lead quality and evaluation strategy (scenario sets, rubrics, offline and controlled evaluations, online metrics, experiments, regression protection, failure analysis)

  • Partner with engineering and applied science on technical choices and tradeoffs (generation, storage, retrieval, freshness, context budgeting, latency, cost, model behavior)

  • Establish success measures across relevance, freshness, personalization utility, task completion, engagement, CSAT, trust, safety, performance, and operational health

  • Drive trustworthy design with transparency/citations/explanations, user controls, lifecycle clarity, auditability, privacy, Responsible AI, and enterprise compliance requirements

  • Build cross-company partnerships across Copilot Chat, Microsoft 365, Work IQ, agents, platform, and security/privacy teams; manage dependencies

  • Communicate strategy, quality insights, risks, and recommendations to senior leaders and run product review rhythms

  • Practice AI-forward product management through rapid prototyping, data-informed iteration, direct customer engagement, and mentorship

  • Base pay range: USD 119,800–234,700 (U.S.); USD 160,200–261,000 (Bay Area and NYC metro)
