Description

You will design and develop the target architecture for a solution built with Sanity + Next.js + Vercel. You will build a scalable content and data model for a multisite/multi-brand environment, define and lead the migration strategy from the current CMS to the headless architecture, and make key architectural decisions around component structure and content organization. You will provide technical oversight across the migration program, set technical standards, and ensure quality through regular code review, agent-assisted delivery verification, mentoring, and collaboration with Sanity and client-side architects.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve the target Sanity + Next.js + Vercel architecture
• Create scalable content/data models for multisite/multi-brand
• Work out the migration strategy from the current CMS to headless
• Decide on component structure/schemas and how content is organized
• Provide technical oversight of the full migration program and keep architectural consistency
• Define technical standards and supervise code quality via regular code reviews
• Organize and lead agent-assisted delivery and verify outputs produced with AI agents
• Collaborate with Sanity teams and client architects during design and development
• Prepare architecture recommendations and present options with trade-offs to key decision gates
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers; help developers solve complex problems
• Ensure the delivered solution is scalable, maintainable, and aligned with the architecture direction

Requirements

• Senior experience designing headless CMS and JAMstack architectures
• Very strong knowledge of Next.js, React, and TypeScript
• Experience making architecture decisions in this stack
• Hands-on experience with Sanity (or similar headless CMS platforms) and familiarity with the Sanity ecosystem
• Knowledge of Sanity Content Lake and Sanity Studio
• Experience designing scalable content schemas and models
• Experience designing content models for multisite/multi-brand
• Experience designing and leading migrations from traditional CMS to headless
• Ability to plan a content migration strategy and decide on target architecture and data model
• Experience integrating the CMS with external systems and services
• Experience technically leading a team, supervising delivery quality, and running code reviews
• Practical experience with AI-assisted/agentic development tools (e.g., Claude Code) and validating AI-assisted code quality
• Ability to make and justify key architectural decisions and analyze trade-offs
• Experience running technical workshops and collaborating with client architects and stakeholders
• Fluent English (C1+) for workshops, architecture presentations, and decision meetings
