Description

Tech Lead / Solution Architect to lead the modernization of an existing CMS and migrate it to a headless architecture based on Sanity + Next.js + Vercel. You will design the target architecture, content/data models for a multisite/multi-brand environment, and make key decisions for dataset and component schemas. You will own the migration strategy, provide technical supervision and code quality oversight, and mentor engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design the target architecture for Sanity + Next.js + Vercel

• Model content and data architecture for multisite / multi-brand

• Decide on dataset model approach and component schemas

• Lead and supervise the migration strategy from the existing CMS to the headless stack

• Provide technical oversight and ensure delivery code quality

• Lead code review and verify output from AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code)

• Design and oversee integrations with external systems

• Collaborate with the Sanity team and client-side architects

• Facilitate technical workshops and decision gates

• Mentor the engineering team

Requirements

• Experience designing a headless CMS / JAMstack architecture

• Very strong knowledge of Sanity (Content Lake, Studio) including content schema design

• Next.js, React, and TypeScript skills at an architect level

• Experience leading content migration strategy (e.g., Drupal to modern stack)

• Experience migrating existing CMSs to headless architecture

• Experience designing content models for multisite / multi-brand environments

• Experience integrating a CMS with external systems

• Experience working with teams that use AI tools to create code and verifying their results

• English at C1+ level for ongoing client communication and leading workshops
