Description

Lead the end-to-end migration of Jira environments from Server to Cloud, ensuring seamless transitions, data integrity, and optimized configurations. You will analyze existing Jira setup details (projects, workflows, schemes, permissions, screens, and automations), perform the migration using Atlassian Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA) and/or third-party tools, and validate results. You’ll troubleshoot migration errors, optimize Jira Cloud configurations, and coordinate stakeholders throughout the process.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute end-to-end Jira migrations from Server to Cloud
• Analyze existing Jira configurations (projects, workflows, schemes, permissions, screens, automations)
• Identify migration risks, dependencies, and data limitations
• Migrate Jira Software, Service Management, and Work Management content (issues, attachments, comments, custom fields, users/groups, permissions)
• Validate and reconcile migrated data
• Troubleshoot migration errors and fix data inconsistencies
• Optimize Jira Cloud projects, workflows, permissions, and automation rules
• Configure users, groups, access control, and SSO integrations
• Coordinate migration/replacement of apps and plugins with Cloud-compatible alternatives
• Maintain documentation of migration steps, configurations, and decisions

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Jira Administrator with hands-on work across Jira Server and Jira Cloud
• Proven experience migrating Jira projects from Data Center/Server to Cloud
• Strong knowledge of workflows, schemes, custom fields, and permissions for Jira Software and Jira Service Management
• Experience with Atlassian Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA)
• Familiarity with Atlassian Marketplace apps and their Cloud compatibility requirements
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
• Ability to work independently and make migration decisions
• English proficiency at B2 or higher
