Description

You will develop and maintain the ifap Praxiscenter, a Delphi-based product for pharmacies and prescribers. The role focuses on improving performance, stability, and integrations with modern services (including .NET and web components) while modernizing a mixed modern/legacy Delphi stack. You will also use Claude Code and AI agents to accelerate refactoring, analysis, and documentation, and contribute to the modernization roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the ifap Praxiscenter Delphi product, working with ABDA/IFA Arzneimitteldatenbank and KBV-BMP standards.

• Design and implement changes to enhance performance, stability, and integration with modern services such as .NET, Express.js, and MSVC components.

• Collaborate with the ifap team and an AI Fullstack team to connect Delphi components with modern web and data services and establish sustainable integration paths.

• Use Claude Code and AI agents to speed up refactoring, analysis, and documentation of the existing Delphi codebase, and share findings with the team.

• Actively shape the modernization roadmap while balancing reliable delivery with step-by-step platform evolution.

Requirements

• Several years of Delphi development experience, ideally in business-critical long-lived applications with high availability and data quality requirements.

• Completed degree (preferably Master) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable technical program.

• Strong knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL) plus integration patterns and legacy modernization experience.

• Solid command of build, deployment, and version management tools.

• Proven use of AI in software engineering, ideally with Claude Code (Agents, Skills, Workflows), AI pipelines, and context engineering.

• Fluent German and English in speaking and writing.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic, responsible, proactive approach aligned with healthcare purpose and patient safety responsibilities.
