Description

You will support the development of electronics and electromechanics for electron microscopes. The work includes bringing prototypes to life and testing them, preparing and updating development documentation and technical drawings, and contributing to hardware that controls an electron beam, processes image signals, and acquires detector data from vacuum and temperature sensors. You’ll also gradually take on more complex engineering tasks based on your knowledge and interests.

Responsibilities

• Bring and test development prototypes
• Prepare and update development documentation and technical drawings
• Assist with hardware development for controlling the electron beam, processing image signals, and acquiring data from detectors, vacuum sensors, and temperature sensors
• Work with mechanical electronics components and interconnecting cabling
• Expand responsibilities over time with increasingly complex development tasks
• Gain practical experience using tools such as OrCAD/Altium, SPICE, oscilloscopes, and spectral analyzers

Requirements

• Studying Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical degree (ideally at least 2nd year)
• Basic electronics knowledge
• Practical experience wiring and measuring electrical/electronic circuits using safe voltage
• Hands-on competence with activities like simple circuit design, soldering, component assembly, and working with connectors and control elements
• Interest in calculations and simulation of analog circuits
• Ability to work with technical documentation in English
• Availability of at least 10 hours per week and ability to plan around coursework
• Availability for several months, ideally long-term during studies
