Description

Provide engineering skills to maintain and improve existing measurement-related electrical products. You will revise drawings and part lists, evaluate components for RoHS compatibility, maintain PCB projects in Altium, and troubleshoot circuits using test boards and instrumentation. You will also coordinate technical issue resolution between suppliers/manufacturing and engineering, develop replacement-part testing, and maintain required design and test documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain electronic products by revising drawings and part lists
  • Evaluate components and products for RoHS compatibility
  • Maintain PCB projects (schematic and layout) within Altium Designer
  • Troubleshoot electrical circuit boards, review schematics, and create test boards for custom product interfaces
  • Act as the critical interface for technical queries and issue resolution between Supplier/manufacturing and Engineering
  • Develop and conduct testing to confirm new parts meet required standards as replacements
  • Develop and maintain testing procedures and coordinate testing activities
  • Provide disposition on nonconformances and timely corrective actions on assigned defects and issues
  • Participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, and related artifacts
  • Assign, direct, and review technicians’ work and guide engineers (as needed)
  • Create and maintain product documentation (design, development, integration, test procedures, test reports, and ERP/production data) using project life management
  • Comply with applicable Personnel, Quality System, and Health, Safety, and Environment policies
  • Complete required safety training (including electrical, emergency response, PPE, IT security, hazardous materials, driving)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Fundamental knowledge of electronic and mechanical hardware including analog and digital circuits (op amps, analog filters, microprocessors, memory)
  • Experience with PCB design/layout tools, preferably Altium
  • Experience with ERP, preferably SAP
  • Knowledge of printed circuit board manufacturing methods
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Detail oriented and thorough
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including MS Project, Word, and Excel
