Description

You will translate customer and stakeholder requirements into technical specifications, design and release electronics hardware, and bring concepts to production-ready systems. The role includes worst-case, thermal, and end-of-life calculations; component selection; cross-functional collaboration with PCB and mechanical teams; and power electronics topology understanding. You will also perform hardware bring-up, characterization, troubleshooting, failure analysis, and support functional safety and design validation/end-of-line test specification.

Responsibilities

  • Capture requirements from stakeholders and translate into technical specifications
  • Perform schematic capture, component selection, and design release
  • Research new concepts and develop product ideas into production-ready designs
  • Execute worst-case design calculations, end-of-life estimation, thermal calculations, and component selection
  • Work with PCB and mechanical teams to guide and review layouts
  • Understand and implement power electronic topologies
  • Support design failure analysis and functional safety activities
  • Conduct hardware bring-up, characterization, troubleshooting, and failure analysis
  • Collaborate across engineering teams to ensure adherence to technical specifications
  • Define design validation tests and end-of-line tests specifications
  • Communicate issues and failures clearly and timely to enable collaborative solution finding

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree with major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • Hands-on skills in schematic capture and circuit simulation & analysis tools
  • Experience with failure investigations and Root Cause & Corrective Action Analysis (RCCA), 8D
  • Hands-on experience with electric/electronics systems and standard lab equipment (DMM, MSO, Logic Analyzer, VNA, power supplies)
  • Familiarity with communication protocols (RS485, UART, CAN, Ethernet)
  • 5+ years designing automotive electronics

  • Salary grade 6: $100,400–$168,000; grade 7: $118,700–$198,500; grade 8: $138,800–$232,700 (final grade based on skills and experience)
