Description

The Electrical Engineer designs, develops, analyzes, and troubleshoots electronics for advanced infrared camera systems. The role includes creating electronic interfaces and PCB assemblies for high-performance analog and digital video, supporting both new and existing products, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams through concept-to-production.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, analyze, and troubleshoot electronic systems and components for infrared camera products

  • Design camera system electronics for high-quality digital and analog video output from infrared focal plane arrays

  • Collaborate with Systems, Software, Firmware, Mechanical, and PCB Layout teams on requirements and interfaces

  • Perform hardware/software system trade studies and present design reviews

  • Develop low-noise power systems, ADC circuits, communication interfaces, and video output electronics

  • Support product development schedules and manufacturing/test/assembly processes

  • Consider electronics packaging, power/thermal constraints, compliance testing, and end-of-life forecasting

  • Create verification plans, generate test stimuli, execute tests, and debug issues during integration and production

  • Produce and maintain design documentation; support manufacturing and customers

  • Liaise with Camera Manufacturing to resolve design/production issues; develop test/troubleshooting hardware

  • Support Client Services with technical questions related to camera products

Requirements

  • US Citizen or PERM Resident

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline; advanced degree preferred or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar engineering environment

  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Cadence/Allegro

  • Experience with simulation tools such as LTSpice and Hyperlynx or Ansys

  • Demonstrated experience taking products from concept through production

  • Strong background in electronics design, system integration, and troubleshooting

  • Proficiency with hardware design tools and test equipment such as oscilloscopes and network analyzers

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Benefits

Salary range: $113,600.00–$151,400.00 (anticipated estimate; final compensation determined by factors such as location, regulations, education/training, and experience).
