Description

Own the end-to-end mechanical system architecture for next-generation telepresence hardware, from concept through mass production. Lead and mentor a mechanical and product design engineering team while partnering with Electrical, Camera/Display, Industrial Design, reliability, and manufacturing partners to deliver high-yield consumer and enterprise hardware. Guide architectural simulations and validation across structural mechanics, FEA, CFD/thermal, and environmental reliability, balancing engineering constraints and trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Lead, scale, and mentor mechanical and product design engineering teams with disciplined execution grounded in first principles.
• Own chassis integration and strategy for precision opto-mechanical structures, thermal dissipation, acoustic chambers, and multi-component packaging.
• Partner cross-functionally to balance design intent and human factors with constraints such as EMI shielding, structural rigidity, and thermal envelopes.
• Guide architectural simulations and validation across structural mechanics, FEA, CFD/thermal airflow, and environmental reliability.
• Drive mechanical delivery across milestones from prototype to mass production, including DFM reviews, global supply chain strategy, tooling vendor engagements, and executive technical governance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years designing mechanical components/assemblies (plastic/metal), and/or printed circuit boards or flexes.
• 12+ years using CAD tools such as 3D MCAD, NX, Creo, or SolidWorks.
• 4+ years leading multiple engineering teams.
• Experience taking mechanical systems from early concept/architecture to high-volume mass production, including precision tooling and advanced manufacturing processes.
• Experience working with international supply chains, tooling vendors, and JDM/ODM manufacturing models.

Benefits

• Individual pay determined by job-related skills, experience, and education/training.
• US: $236,000–$329,000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits.
