Quick Facts

  • Role: Principal Product Manager, Mechanical Infrastructure (Data Center Engineering)

  • Focus: Mechanical strategy and product roadmap for next-generation data center facility systems

Description

Lead the definition and execution of product strategy for mechanical infrastructure and facility systems, bridging abstract business/scale goals with physical engineering realities. Own the “what” and “why” of the mechanical strategy, drive alignment across cross-functional teams, and make tough prioritization decisions even under complexity. Ensure systems are fit for purpose, scalable, cost-effective, and compatible across global regions.

Responsibilities

  • System-Level Ownership: Evaluate how mechanical designs impact the broader infrastructure (cooling, electrical, structural) and propose integrated solutions.

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Create a multi-year vision and roadmap; coordinate teams to build business cases, prioritize the portfolio, and define budget/resources.

  • Modular Standardization: Standardize complex mechanical systems into modular, prefabricated skids to reduce on-site data center timelines.

  • Global Compliance & Localization: Maintain compatibility across multiple geographic zones with differing building codes, environmental constraints, and climate variations.

  • Strategic Alignment & Vision: Define facility and product-level challenges; align stakeholders through complex transitions.

  • Value Engineering & Decision Making: Challenge assumptions about cost and complexity.

  • Technical Leadership: Act as a subject matter expert for evaluating technical trade-offs.

  • Systems Thinking: Understand upstream/downstream impacts of mechanical design choices on electrical and structural systems.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of end to end product delivery experience

  • Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent

  • 8+ years of technical product management, program management or engineering experience

  • Strong working knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and mechanical packaging

Benefits

  • Base salary range (varies by location): $179,900–$243,400 annually
